Warden

Warden photo2

It has been a tremendous honour to serve as your Warden for the past five years and to have sat on County Council for seventeen years. I am especially proud of the achievements that our current Council has accomplished during this term.

Thanks to Council’s strategic guidance, as well as the work and strong collaboration by County staff, Simcoe County is stronger than ever and has become one of Ontario’s most desirable regions in which to live. Council has supported this regional progress through responsible initiatives, such as new affordable housing, increased support to those needing a helping hand, improved programs and facilities for our Long-Term Care residents, major improvements to our roads and bridges, enhanced and more efficient waste collection services, and economic development strategies that help attract innovation and economic growth to the region.

These are just a few service areas the County has worked diligently to ensure the best value for our taxpayers’ dollars, while implementing strategies that meet operational goals, avoid duplication of services, and cut unnecessary expenses.

As Warden, I am extremely proud of Simcoe County’s progress and growth; however, there is still work to be done.

As winter rolls in, we will see a new County Council and Warden sworn in to serve the greater good of our communities and residents. I am encouraged by their ambition and vision, and I wish our new Council the best of luck.

I am a strong believer in forging partnerships that strengthen and build healthy communities. My most treasured partnership is the one I have built with you, the great people of Simcoe County.

My wife Deb and I, together with our loving family, are so privileged to call this beautiful region our home. Thank you to my fellow County Councillors, County staff, regional partners, and Simcoe County residents for the opportunity and incredible honour to have served as your Warden.

Sincerely,

Warden Cal Patterson
